Bian Liunian has enjoyed a close partnership with the Norwegian Concert Institute, the Chinese Cultural Festival of Norway that has resulted in a series of concerts in China, Nepal and Norway.

In 2003 and 2004 generous funding was given by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leading up to the 2004 Norway China anniversary celebration. In October 2004 The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing together with SAS Radisson Hotel and the Norwegian Seafood Council sponsored concerts in Beijing and Kunming for the celebration of 50 Years Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries.
